Biography of
Dr. Susan S. Wood

 

 

Dr. Susan S. Wood retired as Vice Chancellor for Academic Services and Research in April 2014. She began her distinguished career as a charter faculty member at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in August of 1973. She served as President of two national professional societies, the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges and the National Association of Community College Teacher Education Programs. Her awards include the Outstanding Faculty Award from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia, the AMATYC Mathematics Excellence Award, the Distinguished Service Award from the Greater Richmond Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the William C. Lowry Outstanding Teacher (College Level) award from the Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
