Facilitating Career Development Course (FCD) - Spring 2020

VCCS is offering the Facilitating Career Development (FCD) certification course, which provides coaches at Virginia’s Community Colleges with the framework and tools needed for effective career coaching. All coaches and staff who have completed the Virginia Career Coach Certification (VCCC) are eligible to enroll. The FCD course consists of 80 additional hours of training comprised of face-to-face and webinar sessions, reading, assignments, research, and project-based learning. 

To complete the FCD program offered in the Spring of 2020, participants must register by Tuesday, February 25. To complete the FCD program offered in the Fall of 2020, participants must register by Tuesday, September 22.  Registration for each cohort is limited to 15 participants. Early registration is strongly recommended to ensure your participation.

Participants are expected to attend all the face-to-face sessions and webinars assigned to their cohort and should plan accordingly. The cost of the FCD training is $150, which covers the cost of the Facilitating Career Development training manual and materials that will be supplied during the face-to-face session. No refunds available once the first cohort session starts.

Participants who successfully complete the VCCC and the FCD courses are eligible to apply for the Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) credential through the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE), and the Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP) credential through the National Career Development Association (NCDA) credentialing commission.
