EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: REGIONAL RESOURCE CENTER EVENTS CANCELED THROUGH APRIL 17

 In compliance with the Governor’s emergency declaration that limits non-essential meetings and travel, all face-to-face Regional Resource Center Events have been canceled through Friday, April 17.   This includes Engaging ALICE and Under-Resourced Students, Trauma Informed Campus and Classroom, and the Film Series: All the Difference and Personal Statement.  Online events will continue as scheduled. We will review and make decisions regarding rescheduling these face-to-face events as well as the status of the remaining events during the week of April 13th.    No action is needed from registered participants.

Event Description and Takeaways:
Successfully serving under-resourced students will be a key to creating the future, skilled workforce required by the Commonwealth. Are you ready to meet this challenge on your campus?

This interactive workshop will examine economic class and the implications for engaging under-resourced students. The role of hidden rules and keys to helping students create success strategies in the classroom and workplace will be explored. Research-based strategies for improving the success of all students will be shared. Participants will be introduced to the ALICE population, those members of our community who are Asset Limited Income Constrained and Employed and will engage in data from their own regions.

Jim André, Director of Operations, Grants and Federal Workforce Programs, VCCS

Target Audience:
Anyone who works with students on campus or engages in the student experience to include faculty, staff, workforce professionals, coaches, advisors, front line personnel, administrators and college leadership.

Regional Resource Center events are funded through the VCCS Student Success Center and Professional Development at no charge to registered VCCS attendees. However, the VCCS Special Events Cancellation and Fee Policy does apply.
