We have been closely monitoring guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and other experts about the spread of COVID-19.
In light of the rapidly changing situation regarding COVID-19, the Chancellor has made the decision to cancel the New Horizons conference scheduled April 15-17, 2020 and will not reschedule. We do this out of an abundance of caution to protect the health of meeting participants, staff, and the community. The health and safety of meeting participants, speakers, and staff are our first priority and we do not believe it is prudent to gather large numbers of people together at this time.
Below you will find answers to questions you may have. This information can also be found on the event website.
REGISTRATION FEES
All registration fees will be refunded in full.
VCCS Employees: No registration fees will be collected by the VCCS System Office’s business office from any of the community colleges. For any VCCS employee who paid personally for the conference, your registration fee will be reimbursed to you in full within the next 30-60 days.
Non VCCS Employees: All registration fees will be reimbursed in full in the same method payment was received (i.e. check payments will be reimbursed by check; credit card payments will be reimbursed back to the credit card). Please allow 30-60 days for reimbursement.
HOTEL RESERVATIONS
All reservations made in our rooming blocks at The Hotel Roanoke and overflow hotels have already been cancelled with no penalty. Your credit card will not be charged. Please do not call the hotel to cancel your reservation.
If you made a reservation outside of our room blocks or through a 3rd party site (e.g. Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, Trivago, etc.), you will need to cancel your own reservation.
