Event Description and Takeaways:
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are significant childhood traumas that result in actual changes in brain development. Many of our students struggle with the impact of this trauma and it often shows up on our campuses as academic struggles or classroom behavior concerns. Resilience is building strategies that help us each adapt to the challenges we face, to build a stronger toolkit of responses. Research has shown that building resilience can help a person overcome these traumas from the past.
The key objective of this course is to provide information about identifying and responding to trauma with evidence-based resilience strategies when working with an audience whose trauma history may not be known. Participants of this course will receive certification as a Trauma Informed Individual at the conclusion of the training day.
